The national conference in Pontresina will focus on the situation of the Alpine tourism sector, taking into account the trends and the transformation that are currently influencing it. The conference will outline what are the future perspectives for Regions and localities with a fully developed tourism sector and whose economies rely and depend on it.
Different actors from politics, research and academia, public administration and the tourism job market will take part in the discussions focusing on the development of tourist centres, the future of the sector and the issue of second-home ownership.
The conference is supposed to target experts in different fields such as tourism, economy, culture, politics and regional development, but it is also thought for the general public and the second-home owners.
On the following morning, the participants can take part in one of the three possible guided excursions that have been planned:
- Morteratsch – An excursion through the area overlooking the glacier of Morteratsch to raise the issue of glacial retreat
- “St. Moritz – Città nel villaggio” – A walk in St. Moritz on the tracks of the architectural heritage of the past and an overlook on future perspectives with Cordula Seger (Cultural Scientist)
- Museum Engiadinais – An immersion in the past life style of the Engadina Valley
