With this Nr 33, we open a new section "a protected area under the spotlight". Each ALPARC newsletter will be the occasion to discover one protected area from our network. We start this section with the Nature Park Nagelfluhkette, a young park with an interesting and particular status: it is a transboundary park, between Germany and Austria. I you are also interested for a presentation of your protected area in our newsletter, please get in touch!

Established in 2008, the Nagelfluhkette Nature Park brings together communities in the southern Allgäu and the Vorderer Bregenzerwald. It is the first nature park to span the border between Germany and Austria. (...)

The Sexten Dolomites Nature Park in Toblach, Sexten and Innichen, in the Puster Valley, South Tyrol has a new name: from now on it will be known as the Tre Cime Nature Park (Drei Zinnen in German, the second official language). Henceforth, the nature park will bear the name of the three iconic peaks whose world-famous north faces are the most impressive natural feature in the protected area. (...)
